I complained today.

I complained a lot today.

I typed a list of all the mundane things I complained about. I deleted the list because it doesn’t really matter what I complained about.

I complained.

I whined.

Was I thankful. Not at first. Not enough.

Then I saw the video below.

It wasn’t the obvious that made me pause and thank God more for what He’s doing. The opening five seconds hit me between the complaints. Then, when the camera pulls back, I nodded my head in agreement.

The blog on which I saw this video posed this verse to accompany it:
“And not only this, but we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance; and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope; and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us. For while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly” (Romans 5:3-6).

But as I watched the video, this verse came to my mind:
I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. (Phil 4:11, 12)
